This certificate accompanies a commemorative coin celebrating the life of Sir Edmund Hillary, arguably New Zealand's most famous son and the first person to reach the top of Mount Everest. This New Zealand legal tender coin is one of a strictly limited release from New Zealand Post, exclusively supported by Lady June Hillary.


The coins reverse design depicts a portrait of Sir Edmund Hillary and his signature. The picture overlays a silhouette image of a fern, a symbol of New Zealand, and a struck composition representing the beginning of his famous Everest ascent.
